From the inside
What it is like to be a One
Your attention goes straight to what is off: the crooked picture, the sloppy email, your own mistakes. An inner critic narrates the day. You hold yourself to a high standard and feel responsible for meeting it, often long after everyone else has stopped caring. The anger is real, but it rarely looks like anger. It looks like tension, correction and doing it yourself.
Below the line
When the pattern runs you
Resentment builds when others will not try as hard as you do. You criticize, tighten up, and treat rest as something you earn. Small imperfections feel like moral failures, especially your own.
Above the line
When you see it and choose
Good enough starts to feel good. You notice the critic as a voice, not the truth. You let other people do things their way, and you let pleasure in without a reason. The integrity stays. The strain goes.
Nobody lives above the line. The work is noticing sooner when you have dropped below it.
Three versions of every type
The three One subtypes
Which instinct leads changes how the type shows up. Two Ones can look very different. A countertype can look like another type entirely.
