Privacy Policy

Information we collect

• Website visits: our hosting provider may process technical information such as your IP address, browser information, and request logs to deliver and secure the website. This informational site does not have an advertising pixel or a phone-number collection form.
• Support: if you email us, we receive your email address and the information you include.
• SMS setup: when you choose to connect texts in Emma, we store your mobile number, account association, consent notice version, consent and verification timestamps, and whether texts are enabled. Verification attempts are limited; the app stores a protected code digest rather than the code itself.
• Delivery: we store message identifiers, timing, and delivery or error status so we can operate the program, prevent duplicates, and honor your choices.

How we use it

We use this information to verify that you control the number, send the messages you request or consent to, prevent misuse, provide support, record delivery, and stop messages when you withdraw consent. Your daily preferences determine which invitations are relevant.

Text invitations contain a link to Emma. We do not put your private coaching conversation, Enneagram details, or chosen action in those invitations.

Mobile information and consent

We do not sell or rent personal information. We do not share, sell, or provide mobile phone numbers, mobile information, SMS opt-in data, or messaging consent to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

SMS opt-in data and consent are not shared for purposes unrelated to providing this messaging program. Service providers, including Twilio and the infrastructure providers operating Emma, may process the information necessary to deliver, secure, and support the service on our behalf. Those limited service functions do not authorize their use of SMS consent for marketing.

We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the security and rights of users and the service.

Message frequency and charges

Emma Daily Practice Texts sends up to two daily practice invitations per day, plus verification and test messages you request. Frequency varies with your settings and activity. Message and data rates may apply. Recurring invitations are not currently active in the limited pilot.

Your choices

SMS is optional and not a condition of purchase. Reply STOP to stop texts, or use Turn off texts in Today with Emma. For help, reply HELP or email shelley@bigselfschool.com.

You can remove your companion record in Emma. That removes its SMS subscription and delivery records and invalidates pending verification codes. Limited, redacted verification-attempt information may remain to enforce request limits. Our messaging provider may retain records under its own retention rules and legal obligations; removing an Emma record does not recall an SMS already delivered.

For access, correction, or deletion requests, contact shelley@bigselfschool.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

Security and retention

We use access controls and restricted server-side processing to protect phone numbers and consent records. No system can promise absolute security. We keep information needed to operate the program, respond to your requests, prevent abuse, and meet applicable obligations.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy as the service develops. The date at the top identifies the current version.
